So it appears that Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest are already off to a rocky start.

Here’s the thing, when ABC announced that they were bringing back American Idol she immediately got worried because she fears the reboot will create another Michael Strahan situation with Ryan.

Ripa wants Ryan to make sure Live is his priority – not Idol.

The good news for her is the network has yet to announce who will host the show, and Ryan has reportedly shot down any rumors that he’s interested in the job.

On air she did act in sharp contrast to the speculation that she’s unhappy.

In fact, they talked about it on their show and she said she went into seclusion when Idol was cancelled, and she’s championing for it to come back, and she DOES want him to be the host.

Page Six reports that Seacrest won’t do anything to jeopardize his job with Live and he has a long-term commitment to the show.
