Regis Philbin is willing to pull back the curtain a little bit on his relationship with former co-star, Kelly Ripa.

Turns out, she didn’t take it too well when 85-year-old Regis decided to depart from their show back in 2011.

The TV legend spoke to fellow elderly TV legend, Larry King, about his relationship with Kelly today, admitting that he doesn’t keep in contact with her.

He tells Larry King, “Never once did they ask me to go back… She got very offended when I left. She thought I was leaving because of her… I was leaving because I was getting older, and it wasn’t right for me anymore.”

This shines an interesting light on Kelly Ripa and her first impressions when co-hosts leave her side… Of course, it makes everyone think back to the major drama that occurred when Michael Strahan announced that he’d leave her show to work on Good Morning America, which left Kelly “blindsided” and disrespected in the workplace.

As Regis confirms, she takes things personal.
